Composition Project Outline
Step 1: Take photos
For your first project you are to find and photograph a minimum of 2 scenes that illustrate the following composition tips:
- Leading lines
- Contrast
- Rule of thirds
- Framing the subject
- Texture
- Depth
- Filling the frame
- Symmetrical balance
Try to always include a clear focal point in each shot. Before you press the shutter release button ask yourself
“what is the focal point in this picture?”
The reason a focal point is important is that when you look at an image you generally need a “resting place” or something of interest to hold your attention. Without it you’ll find people will simply glance at your shots and then move on.
Step 2: Import
Upload your photos, and sort through the pictures you wish use. Save to your H: drive and USB.
Step 3: Digital Editing
Using Photoshop choose some of your photos to manipulate. Adjust lighting, colour and tone to your liking.
